When lavender is steam distilled, in addition to the gorgeous essential oil, we get a beautiful, earthy lavender hydrosol. It retains all the beneficial properties of essential oil in a light more versatile form.
Please note that hydrosol is a unique scent and while it has a lot of the properties of lavender essential oil, the smell is not what some people recognize as a pure lavender scent. It is best kept refrigerated or in a cool, dark room.
